About "Us" and a little bit about "Them"

The Dialogue Blog was born out of a desire to begin engineering a new language to help express our experiences in the Christian faith and everyday spirituality.  We have grown somewhat tired of all the religious cliches that get tossed around these days.  There seems to be a big gap between what is spoken of by the "religious crowds" and what is understood by the rest of us.  For whatever reason we are no longer connecting with the religion of our ancestors.  It is time we start pioneering a new way, a new breed, a new conversation.

We consider everything to be sacred and nothing to be secular.   The realm of the spiritual should not be left in the hands of a few experts, but rather open to exploration by all.  We see no need for divisions of this kind.  Language such as sacred and secular tend to create imaginary lines of division.  We don't see a need for language that creates an "us vs. them" mentality.  Here at The Dialogue Blog there is no "them" only "us".  Whether you choose to be among "us" or among some other "us" we do not consider you a "them".

Our story picks up with a small group of people who decided to do things differently in the realm of faith and spirituality.  More specifically, we are in the process of forming a new faith community in Manchester, NH.  We say process because we will always be "in process".  We believe the direction and the journey are just as valuable as the destination itself.  This new faith community is learning how to build a dialogue between God and people.

We call ourselves The Dialogue Church, but this site is not just for The Dialogue Church.  This site goes beyond institutional church and religion in order to discover a spirituality that Jesus talked about when He was alive.

We believe that this same kind of faith and life is available to all of us today.  We dream of spawning that kind of awakening in the Greater Manchester Area and beyond.

We believe that it all starts with a few people conversing about things that matter.  This site is one place to do just that.  So, please poke around and if you see something that stirs you up, makes you reflect, or causes you to swear then all we ask is that you share it with others by posting a comment of your own (minus the swearing of course, because we are not too big into using expletives around here).
